Windiag
Prism has developed a remote diagnostic system,
called WinDiag, that allows a service technician or maintenance
person to connect to a store PC using dial-up connection
and perform many diagnostic tasks as well as change operational
configuration parameters in individual POS registers.
The system runs on a Windows based in-store PC and communicates
with each POS register over the register LAN. This allows
central office personnel to dial into a store and verify LAN
operations, check the manager register poll table, check the
operational modes of all registers in the poll table and save
and restore register manager mode parameter snapshots.
It also allows you to remotely edit video configurations and
video routing tables, as well as most other manager mode parameters,
on an individual register basis.
Prism uses this system worldwide to provide
quick, accurate and economical troubleshooting service to
our customer base. Many of our customers have set up
their own help desk service using this product.
