Installations

At Prism, we believe that our Installations set us apart from any other installation organization. Below is an explanation of steps we take before, during, and after an installation that make us one of the best installation teams around.

BEFORE:

  • CTO (Configure To Order)
Once we receive an order, all equipment is set up, configured, and tested in our warehouse using the same cables that will be used for the install. All of this is done to ensure no “surprise” out of box hardware failures.
  • Confirm ALL equipment locations with the “Decision Maker”
We want to make sure the store personnel get the most out of their system, without interfering with their operations. We let them decide where and how they want to use the equipment.

DURING:

  • Network Certification
Our installers use certification testers that guarantee cabling system compliance according to TIA/ISO standards. TIA/ISO certification is the most rigorous of all cable testing. Used primarily by commercial datacom contractors and network owners, certification tools are the only tools that provide "Pass" or "Fail" information, in accordance with TIA or ISO standards. The results from these measurements determine if a link is compliant with a category or Class of cable (for example, Cat 5e/6 or Class D/E). Certification is the final step required by structured cabling manufacturers to grant their warranties for properly certified projects. Fluke Networks' DTX CableAnalyzerT Series combines powerful speed and unprecedented accuracy no other certification tester can match.
  • Cable Management
Finger duct surface raceway or Panduit is used if no conduit is available or if we are unable to get down a wall. We will attempt to run all cables in the wall if possible. This not only protects the cables from damage, but also hides cabling for a cosmetically clean, seamless look. All tie blocks used to hold cables in place are screwed down for added strength and security. Cables are labeled for easy trouble shooting. Split loom is put on all cables visible to the customers or if the cables are in a hazardous area. Again this is for cosmetic purposes as well as protection. All cables are orderly and visually appealing once the install is complete.

AFTER:

  • Test/Program Entire System
After the installation, we test the equipment to ensure operability. During the programming phase, we offer suggestions to the operator of different ways to program the system so they can run their business efficiently. Most of our installation techs have worked in the restaurant business before joining Prism. Those unfamiliar with the restaurant business are required to complete appropriate course provided by Prism.
  • Monitor Store Opening
We realize opening day is stressful, which is why we monitor operations from behind the counter to head off any issues, whether it be training or system issues.

At Prism, we take pride in our Installations. We believe that part of the overall appearance of a restaurant starts with the Point of Sale.
